  On August 6, 2020, the final of the 2nd China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (CRIEC) was successfully held in Wuxi, Jiangsu province. Focusing on 3 thematic fields, namely AI, robotic technology, biotech and medicine, the remarkable event has initially attracted 74 Russian applications. With multiple rounds of expert reviews, there were 9 outstanding projects entering the final competition roadshow. During this technology feast, the project “AI Analysis of Blood and Bone Marrow Cells” gained laurels as the champion, with project “New Molecular Detection System based on Chemically Modified Aptamers” winning the second place and project “CoffeeBot” taking the third.

  Oleg Movsesyan, president of Eurasia Division of International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation, and CEO of Lomonosov Moscow State University Science Park, was invited to give a remark at the beginning of this event. In his remarkable speech, he stressed that Moscow State University Science Park and Beijing International Exchange Association are true partners enjoying a long history of cooperation and friendship. The China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, jointly organized by both parties has received great attention and recognition from Russian startups. The first competition in 2019 was a huge success, serving as a bridge for mutual exchanges, has played an essential role in expanding the channels of China-Russian scientific and technological cooperation as well as in connecting valuable resources from enterprises of both sides. He also noted that looking forward, Moscow State University Science Park would work together with Beijing International Exchange Association to deepen multilateral cooperation in fields of technical talents, projects, markets and capital through the key platform of China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

  He believed that by establishing branch offices and oversea Liaison Offices in each other's countries, both parties would develop an all-dimensional, multi-tiered and all-sectoral cooperation model, promoting the high-level development of China-Russian science and technology innovation.

  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the final competition was held in forms of online roadshow and offline matchmaking sessions. In an effort to promote efficient and accurate match-making of Russian projects with the Chinese counterparts, this remarkable event focused on consolidating channels for startups incubation, innovative technology transfer and exchanges among technical talents, so as to accelerating industrial upgrading by technology transfer.

  According to Dr. Jieni Guo, Deputy Secretary General of the BIEA who has been in charge of this event on behalf of China side, the innovation competition, compared with last year, has witnessed some notable adjustments in thematic fields, project numbers and durations of each session with careful preparation and optimal design.

  During this event, an online signing ceremony was held between Jiangnan University National Science and Technology Park and Lomonosov Moscow State University Science Park. Both parties, having reached an agreement on project cooperation and talents exchanges. In the future, with the aim to foster deeper partnership, both sides will advance technical research and project innovation in food engineering, textile engineering and other fields.

  Next stage of the 2nd China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition will embrace more side events in Beijing and other major cities. Looking forward, Beijing International Exchange Association, continuing its record of excellence, is prepared to join hands with Moscow State University Science Park to open up new ground for mutual cooperation, embracing new breakthroughs in China-Russia innovation cooperation with all-dimensional, multi-tiered and all-sectoral features.
