北京国际交流协会成立于1989年，是一个具有独立法人资格、由北京市民政局认定的AAAA级社会组织。协会是专门从事和开展对外国际交流的民间平台，是广大国际伙伴寻找在京合作机会的重要渠道和窗口。协会也是1988年创刊的国家级综合性月刊《发现》杂志的主办单位。

作为一家专注于涉外国际交流的民间组织，北京国际交流协会积累了大量的、独特的企业资源、政府资源、外交资源及国际资源，这些资源都已成为协会不断发展的强大支撑。经过三十余年的发展，北京国际交流协会已拓展了遍及六个大洲、二十余个重点国家和地区的国际科技和人文交流合作，奠定了坚实的国际合作基础、搭建了稳定的合作伙伴关系。

北京国际交流协会的宗旨是：在日益深刻的全球化变革下，充分发挥非政府组织的灵活性和公益性，通过策划和组织“引进来”与“走出去”相结合的双向国际实践活动，致力于多角度多层次地增进国际好感，提高我国的良好声誉和国家形象。

协会设有秘书处、国际合作部、办公室、财务部，下辖可持续发展专业委员会、法律专业委员会、文化贸易促进专业委员会、影像文化工作委员会、青少年文化交流专业委员会5个专业委员会。

近年来，协会克服疫情对国际交往产生的不利影响，积极拓展了与APEC和金砖国家开展多边国际科技交流的渠道。主办“面向数字化社会的APEC孵化器能力建设研讨会”，17个经济体超过70位代表参与，形成了八条孵化器能力建设的建议，并在APEC官网发布了《APEC孵化器发展综述：起源、现状与后2020时代愿景》研究报告；

协会大力探索民间国际科技交流新模式，推动“一带一路”国际科技合作多点开花、走深走实。助推中俄科技创新年，连续主办“中俄创新创业大赛”。积累了超过500项俄罗斯初创项目，筛选近百项俄罗斯科技成果与我国企业、科研院所展开技术转化落地交流对接，累计促成项目签约二十余项（次）；主办“泰国高等教育与科技创新日”、“泰国技术需求专场”活动，针对泰国技术需求链接我国技术走向东盟市场；同时，打造了GatetoChina“一带一路”高成长项目离岸加速营计划,聚焦于有意来华发展的海外科创企业，提供全方面的“加速”指导，目前已经有来自俄罗斯、泰国、墨西哥、越南等30余家企业完成在线注册，课程累计播放量超过1000次。

此外，协会注重提升服务能力，加强平台建设。自2019年起承担“莫斯科大学科技园北京办事处”工作。并着手打造“一带一路”女性科技人才能力建设中心，目前已与来自欧盟、加拿大、菲律宾、俄罗斯、巴西等相关机构达成合作意向。

助力企业“走出去”，关注中国科技企业的海外利益保护，发布《国际科技项目成果转化流程》（T/BIEA 001—2021）团体标准。

Founded in 1989, Beijing International Exchange Association is an AAAA-level social organization with independent legal personality and recognized by the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau. The association is a non-governmental platform specializing in and carrying out international exchanges, and an important channel and window for international partners to find opportunities for cooperation in Beijing. The association is also the sponsor of the national comprehensive monthly magazine "Discovery" founded in 1988.

As a non-governmental organization focusing on foreign-related international exchanges, Beijing International Exchange Association has accumulated a large number of unique corporate resources, government resources, diplomatic resources and international resources, which have become a strong support for the continuous development of the association. After more than 30 years of development, Beijing International Exchange Association has expanded international scientific and technological and cultural exchanges and cooperation across six continents and more than 20 key countries and regions, laying a solid foundation for international cooperation and building stable partners.

The purpose of BIEA is to give full play to NGOs’ flexibility and public welfare as globalization takes hold. Through organizing “bringing in & going out” two-way international practice activities, BIEA is committed to promoting international goodwill from various angles and levels, and improving our country’s good reputation and national image.

The Association is made up of a secretariat, an international cooperation department, an office, and a finance department. It has four subordinate professional committees, namely Sustainable Development Committee, the Law Professional Committee, the Culture and Trade Promotion Professional Committee and the Image Work Committee. Founded in 1988, the journal of the Association is a national comprehensive journal called FAXIAN.

In recent years, the Association has overcome the adverse impact of the epidemic on international exchanges and actively expanded the channels for multilateral international scientific and technological exchanges with APEC and BRICS countries. Hosted the "Seminar on Capacity Building of APEC Incubators for a Digital Society", attended by more than 70 representatives from 17 economies, and formulated eight suggestions for capacity building of incubators, and released the "Summary of APEC Incubator Development: Origin, Status and Future" on APEC's official website 2020 Times Vision" research report;

The association vigorously explores new modes of non-governmental international scientific and technological exchanges, and promotes the "Belt and Road" international scientific and technological cooperation to flourish and deepen. Boosted the Sino-Russian Year of Science and Technology Innovation, and successively hosted the "China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition". Accumulated more than 500 Russian start-up projects, screened nearly 100 Russian scientific and technological achievements, and carried out technology transformation and landing exchanges with Chinese enterprises and scientific research institutes. Accumulated more than 20 projects were signed (times); hosted the "Thailand Higher Education and Technology Innovation" Day” and “Thailand Technology Demand Special” activities, linking Chinese technology to the ASEAN market in response to Thailand’s technology demand; at the same time, the GatetoChina “Belt and Road” high-growth project offshore acceleration camp plan has been created, focusing on overseas technology innovations who intend to develop in China. Enterprises, providing all-round "accelerated" guidance. At present, more than 30 enterprises from Russia, Thailand, Mexico, Vietnam, etc. have completed online registration, and the course has been played more than 1,000 times.

In addition, the association focuses on improving service capabilities and strengthening platform construction. Since 2019, it has undertaken the work of "Beijing Office of Moscow University Science and Technology Park". And started to build the "Belt and Road" female scientific and technological talent capacity building center, and has reached cooperation intentions with relevant institutions from the European Union, Canada, the Philippines, Russia, Brazil and so on.

Help enterprises to "go global", pay attention to the protection of overseas interests of Chinese technology enterprises, and release the group standard of "Transformation Process of International Science and Technology Project Achievements" (T/BIEA 001-2021).
